Kharkiv Synagogue

Central synagogue and architectural monument in Kharkiv.

The building of the Kharkiv Choral Synagogue was designed by the famous architect Jacob Gequirtz. His project took the first prize in the competition of the Imperial Architectural Society in 1909. Eclectic postures combine Roman Gothic with elements of the Moorish style. It is one of the largest in Europe.
