Illintsi

The city is located in a valley between the rivers V'yazovytsya and Sobka. Il'inetskiy crater is situated near the town. About two thousand years ago settled tribes lived on the Ilincy's territory. There are well-preserved remains of Scythian burial mounds (IV-III century BC) and one of the oldest Slavic settlements dated V century AD.

Іллінці відомі передусім тим, що неподалік від них, якихось 400 мільйонів років тому, впав метеорит і залишив по собі немаленьку таку впадину. Це найстаріша астроблема в Україні, яку частково видно на поверхні. У кратері знайшли найбільший у світі агат та трохи алмазів. Місцина не дуже туристична і представляє цінність здебільшого для науковців. Самі Іллінці справляють приємне враження – миле, охайне містечко. Храм з червоної цегли – справжня окраса міста! Тут добре просто бути.
