Founded in 2004, it was originally located at the “Khutir Nadia” reserve before relocating to Kropyvnytskyi in 2025, where it reopened in a historic former National Bank building. Its collection includes over 6,000 items: costumes, posters, photos, videos, and archival materials. The exhibition spans eight halls, covering dance history from the Coryphaei Theater era to modern ensembles and the Ukrainian diaspora. A special "Memory Room" honors early choreographers. The museum also highlights leading children's dance schools and the activities of the National Choreographic Union. Cultural and educational events are held regularly.
