The Savior-Transfiguration Church was built according to the projects of the famous architects of that time – A. Kvasov and I. Grigorovich-Barsky.The composition of the building is pyramidal, refers to the tower-like temples, is made of local bricks, has a two-colored facade – a yellow background with white elements. pandativas partially preserved oil images. However, the old iconostasis, unfortunately, almost did not survive.
In 1961, the church was closed with the intention of further demolishing the building. By 1979, it was used as a warehouse, until it was declared an architectural monument. Restoration of the temple was lasting. During the relevant works in 2008, a unique painting dating from the 18th century was revealed. It is a fragment of the composition "The Last Supper". The mastery of painting gives grounds to believe that the work was done by a master from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts.
The church is located in the very center of Glukhiv – its historical part. And once this place was already outside the city fortifications, so the church was called "Zagradska".
