Bogdan Khmelnitsky Square (formerly - Castle Hill)

National heritage complex, where the first settlement and later Cherkassy castle were located.

Castle Hill (Dnipro Hill) - is one of the hills in the landscape of Cherkasy.

Located in the center of the low-lying bank of Kremenchug reservoir on the Dnipro river. It has historical and archaeological significance, because there was a settlement first, and later Cherkassy castle.

There is speculation by archaeologists that Castle Hill's has been a place of Roden city, the location of which remains today one of the biggest mysteries of the history of Ukraine.

Now Castle Hill is Bogdan Khmelnitsky Square, where several monuments are located:

Monument to Cossack leader Ivan Pidkova and Zaporizhzhya hetman was opened in 1986 to the 700 anniversary of the city. The monument was made by- sculptor P. I. Kulik (Lviv) and architect V.I. Bliusiuk. The monument is a bronze sculpture of Ivan Pidkova is 2 meters high with a mace in his hand, mounted on a granite pedestal. The pedestal has a bronze cannon and plaque with the inscription: Ivan Pidkova - a famous hero of the joint fight of Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian and Moldovan peoples against the Mongol-Turkish invaders, which he led in the second half of the XVI century. Cherkasy city was the center of the struggle in Ukraine.

At the entrance to the park is a stele depicting Bohdan Khmelnytsky.
