Unlike most museums in Kiev, we are talking not only about the past, but also about the contemporary history of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, about their sacrificial struggle with the aggressor for the sake of freedom and territorial integrity of our state.
The Museum exposition successively reveals military history on the territory of modern Ukraine from the Bronze Age to present days. A separate floor of the Museum is reserved for coverage of events taking place in the East of the country. The key episodes of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict are presented to your attention: the beginning of the confrontation during the events of the Dignity Revolution, the annexation of the Crimea, the battles for Slavyansk, Saur-Mogil, Donetsk airport, Mariupol, Avdeevka, Illovaysk, Debaltsevsky "boiler", etc.
The Museum includes 5 branches located in different regions of Ukraine: the Volyn Regional Museum of the Ukrainian Army and Military Equipment (Lutsk), the Museum of the Strategic Missile Forces (Mykolaiv Region), the Memorial Complex "In Memory of the Kruty Heroes" (Chernigiv Region), the Museum of Heroes of the Dnieper (Ivano-Frankivsk) and the Museum of Heavy Bomber Aviation (Poltava).
