The museum preserves the history of natural and historical local lore. The paleontological collection of the museum is the largest in the region.
The museum has more than 60 thousand exhibits. A scientific library is the place in the museum, where students and pupils work, and specialists process archival materials. The library fund is 7500 units.
Kremenchuk Museum of Local Lore is a methodological center for departmental museums at large enterprises of the city.
Every year the museum receives more than eighty thousand visitors, including guests of our city from near and far abroad.
Every month in the exhibition, halls of the museum there are exhibitions of artists, masters of decorative and applied arts. Exhibitions of children's works and photo exhibitions are becoming traditional.
The museum pays considerable attention to scientific and educational work. Monthly events dedicated to anniversaries and significant events in the city are held. Junior schoolchildren and preschoolers come to the museum for interesting ethnography classes and lessons of the School of Museum Education. Meetings with local artists, poets and prominent people of the city take place here.
