Stone Park — Parents’ Park at Feldman Ecopark

Stone Park — Parents’ Park, also known as the Park of a Thousand Stones — is one of the most picturesque locations in Feldman Ecopark.

This space began to take shape in 2023, during the full-scale war. In difficult times for the country, the idea emerged to create a place that reminds people of their roots, family, and the connection between generations.

That was when stones from all across Ukraine began arriving here, from regions including Zakarpattia, Lviv, Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kryvyi Rih. Natural stone boulders of different shapes, sizes, colors, and textures became part of the new location. Some stones weigh only a few kilograms, while others are true giants. For example, one of the granite boulders weighs 34 tons.

Visitors can see many different types of stone in the park: strong granite, noble marble, dense quartzite, dark basalt, delicate sandstone, and porous shell rock. Each of them was shaped by nature over millions of years — rain, wind, and sunlight gradually formed their surfaces, leaving traces of time behind.

For example, if you look closely at the sandstone, you can notice imprints of ancient plants — traces of branches and leaves preserved in the rock from prehistoric times. Shell rock is easy to recognize because of the small fossilized shells embedded in its structure. Granite attracts attention in its own way as well: natural inclusions of different minerals sometimes create a subtle sparkle under sunlight.

Today, these stones have become part of the landscape, resting among grasses and trees and forming natural compositions. Visitors warmly refer to this location as the “Kharkiv Stonehenge.”

At the same time, this is not just a beautiful natural location. Stone Park — Parents’ Park is dedicated to our parents and ancestors. The large stones symbolize strength, memory, and the connection between generations. Every human life is the result of a long chain of family lineage. Each of us has two parents. They have four parents — our grandparents — then eight great-grandparents, sixteen great-great-grandparents, and thirty-two ancestors in the fifth generation. In just ten generations, this chain already includes more than a thousand people thanks to whom we exist today.

That is why this place was created as a space where people can pause for a moment, spend time with loved ones, or simply remember those who came before us. These powerful boulders symbolize the strength of family roots and the bond between generations that we often fail to notice in everyday life.

Today, Stone Park — Parents’ Park has become a quiet corner surrounded by nature, where visitors can walk among stones from different parts of Ukraine while reflecting on the people благодаря whom we came into this world.
