The initiative to establish the museum came from its director, Ivan Moskalenko (DJ Derbastler), one of the pioneers of Ukraine’s electronic music scene. The concept and structure were supported by cultural expert Fedir Balandin, director of the Kyiv City Center for Folk Art.
The museum’s chief academic advisor is well-known Kyiv historian and researcher Mykhailo Kalnytskyi.
The Department of Culture emphasized the importance of preserving vinyl records as complete works of art. The museum plans to expand, conduct cultural research, and launch expeditions exploring various aspects of music culture in Ukraine and worldwide.
