Most tourists get to know Lviv while walking around the city center. But sometimes it’s worth going higher. We’ve compiled a list of spots with panoramic views of rooftops, squares, and city landmarks — convenient stops for tourists who want to combine a coffee break with a view that takes your breath away.

Uno City Cafe

Uno City Cafe is located in the center of Lviv, on the third floor of the Magnus shopping center. The café is primarily known for its view of the Lviv Opera House, clearly visible from the windows, making it a convenient stop for tourists during walks around the historic center.

The café was opened by the Uno team from Lutsk. The concept here revolves around all-day brunches and specialty coffee. The menu includes breakfasts and light dishes served regardless of the time: avocado toasts, porridge, hot breakfasts with meat, salads, Tom Yum soup, and syrniki (cheese pancakes). This is a great option for those who don’t adhere to traditional “breakfast hours” and are looking for simple, understandable options.

One standout menu item is the “Johnson Breakfast”: grilled sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, red beans, and bread. A hearty set without complex interpretations, often chosen as a full meal.

The coffee menu focuses on classic drinks and manual brewing methods. They serve espresso and doppio, filter coffee in two sizes, cappuccino, latte, flat white, and macchiato. For those who want coffee with a cleaner flavor profile, there is a hand brew V60. The menu also includes a coffee set (espresso + cappuccino) and orange coffee served hot or cold.

The interior is decorated in light tones and not overloaded with decor. On the walls hang works by artist Eduard Belsky, and the large windows make the view of the Opera House the main visual focus of the space.

Prices: “Johnson Breakfast” — 295 UAH, pear and caramel croissant — 170 UAH, hand brew V60 — 100 UAH, cappuccino (280 ml) — 95 UAH

The main reason to visit is the panorama of city rooftops, clearly visible from the terrace, as well as the opportunity to enjoy coffee or wine right above the historic center.

The space consists of an open terrace and an indoor hall, so it suits both warm weather and cooler days. In the evenings, live music or DJ sets are often played, but during the day, Dakh serves as a calm spot for a coffee break while walking around the city.

Valentino specializes in Italian cuisine and operates as a slow dining restaurant — suitable for lunches, dinners, and coffee breaks in the city center. Live music, particularly piano, is often played in the evenings.

One key point for tourists is the rooftop terrace on the third floor. From here, there is a view of Lviv’s historic center rooftops. The terrace serves as a space for food, drinks, and relaxed pauses between city walks and is also suitable for photos with a panorama of old Lviv.

Inside, the restaurant displays a large collection of gas lamps — 528 exhibits, making it the second largest in Europe. The space recreates the stages of oil extraction and distillation, includes an exact copy of one of the first gas lamps, and exhibits related to historical figures — including lamps belonging to Emperor Franz Joseph, Giuseppe Garibaldi, and Miklouho-Maclay. At the entrance stands a monument to the gas lamp and its inventor, Jan Zeh.

The gastronomic part of the restaurant is built around conceptual dishes and drinks. The signature item is the “chemical experiment”: a tasting set of tinctures served in test tubes, offered in formats ranging from a set for two to a large set for a group. Soprano. Roof terrace

Soprano. Roof terrace is located on the roof of the Taurus City Hotel, on the seventh floor. It is one of Lviv’s highest gastronomic viewpoints: panoramic windows and the terrace offer a view of several city landmarks at once — High Castle Park, Lviv City Hall, and St. George’s Cathedral.

This is a spot where people come not just to eat, but also to admire the city from above — without being tied to the historic center.

The menu focuses on European and Italian cuisine, with additional Ukrainian dishes. Special attention is given to dishes cooked on charcoal and in a Josper oven — meat, fish, and game. This cooking method gives a golden crust and a pronounced smoky aroma.

The restaurant also has its own pastry section: eclairs, macarons, cakes, and pastries are made to order.

The terrace offers a wide view of central Lviv and the rooftops of historic buildings. In warm weather, it becomes the main reason to go up — one of the highest viewing terraces on Rynok Square. Part of the space has a retractable roof, allowing it to operate in changing weather.

The restaurant format is multi-layered: breakfast, a separate Ukrainian menu, a children’s menu, and a full beer menu are available. The restaurant has its own Kaspar Schulz brewery, brewing beer according to German and Belgian recipes. Another highlight is the Slayer Espresso Gold coffee machine, appreciated by specialty coffee enthusiasts.

Another recognizable feature of 36Po is the largest shark and exotic marine life aquarium in Ukraine, located inside the restaurant and integrated into the spatial experience rather than as a separate attraction.
